Product details

May Oehler develops and evaluates various interpolation-based metal artifact reduction methods and investigates their applicability to metal artifacts in CT images. She employs 1D, 1.5D, and 2D interpolation methods to repair the inconsistent projections in the acquired raw data. She compares these results both after reconstruction with the FBP and with the weighted iterative l-Maximum A-Posteriori method developed in this work. The author tests the different mechanisms on the one hand using phantom data from a torsophantom marked with steel markers and on the other hand using clinical datasets with varying metal artifacts.
