Product details
Most of the life cycle assessments conducted so far have focused on packaging materials. There is currently a lack of in-depth studies specifically related to electronics and electrical components. This book first presents the state of research on life cycle assessment as a tool for the ecological evaluation of products, in order to derive a methodological framework for the assessment. Furthermore, it examines the material, energy, and pollutant flows of a complex electronic product (using a color television as an example). An impact assessment of the environmental burdens identified in the inventory analysis is conducted. Finally, conclusions are drawn from the results obtained, and optimization potentials as well as concepts for environmental relief are presented.
