At the same time, a significant portion of macroeconomic methodology can be addressed, and economic policy questions also receive their due attention. After laying the groundwork, the reader is gradually introduced to classical-neoclassical and Keynesian theories. This is followed by discussions on portfolio theory, monetarism, and the theory of rational expectations. A detailed presentation of the New Keynesian theory concludes the main part of the book. A mathematical appendix provides the mathematical knowledge essential for understanding macroeconomic models.
