In the natural science degree programs, students acquire the fundamentals for a mathematical treatment of subject-specific problems in the first two semesters. This textbook is aimed at those students. It has developed from the lecture material of the author, who has been offering the course 'Mathematics for Chemists' at the Technical University of Munich for many years. The goal of this textbook is to provide students with a solid command of mathematical methods and to help them orient themselves. Numerous examples explain and complement the material, and mathematical proofs are only derived when they serve to enhance understanding. A variety of exercises with differing levels of difficulty are intended to encourage the reader to engage with the material.
