The work "Bildnerei der Geisteskranken" by Hans Prinzhorn, published in 1922 by Julius Springer in Berlin, is long out of print, including the unchanged second edition from 1923. The decision by the publisher to reprint it deserves recognition and thanks. The work is still capable of sparking interest from various perspectives today: not only psychiatry, art history, and aesthetics are addressed, but also the entire spectrum of human concerns, which diversely unfolds as "anthropology." Hans Prinzhorn was not able to oversee another new edition himself. He passed away too early, at the age of 47, on June 14, 1933, from typhus. He was born on June 8, 1886, in Hemer/Westphalia, as the son of a paper manufacturer.
