The freely available software GeoGebra functions like such a modular system, as it combines dynamic geometry, spreadsheet capabilities, and computer algebra. On one hand, impressive colorful applets can be created here; on the other hand, it also offers plenty of room for creativity in dealing with mathematical objects. How can this tool contribute to a deeper understanding of mathematics? Through original examples, different perspectives are taken, and possible shifts in viewpoint are highlighted, all of which can contribute to a greater diversity in the mathematical awareness of learners.
