This volume is dedicated to Mr. Director Dr. Dr. h. c. Ritz Gajewski. Dr. Gajewski first became closely involved with the production of photographic products when the board of LG Farbenindustrie A.G. tasked him in 1928 with reorganizing the then-operating community in Berlin, which combined the Agfa factories with their production areas in photography, artificial silk, and fibers. When LG Farbenindustrie A.G. was restructured into three divisions in 1929, the Berlin operating community became the core of Division I. In 1931, Dr. Gajewski took over the entire technical management of this division as a member of the board and the central committee of LG Farbenindustrie A.G. His significant contributions in the fields of artificial silk and fibers are well known. However, we owe him especially the extraordinary achievements.
