Tina Anne Schütz develops and discusses a new multiscale model to represent the early growth phase of glioblastomas. To capture multiple scales, the author links a hybrid model at the microscopic level with the model of a molecular interaction network. By comparing it with in vitro data, she validates the model and conducts simulations to draw conclusions for biology and medicine. In particular, the model provides insights into new prognostic markers for the progression of glioblastomas and new therapeutic approaches.
