Product details

Despite various initiatives and activities in politics, business, civil society, and science, the transition to a sustainable society remains one of the central challenges of our time. An important prerequisite for further establishing sustainability in different areas of society lies in the professionalization of tomorrow's decision-makers. For this, an appropriate education in sustainability science is necessary. The textbook "Sustainability Science," authored by faculty members of the Faculty of Sustainability at Leuphana University of Lüneburg, aims to contribute to this goal. After an introduction to the history of sustainable development and sustainability science, the foundational scientific and technical as well as humanistic principles are presented. Subsequently, topics in sustainability science are addressed.
