Product details

Tied with strong tension, which brings the wound edges together. 1-3 such "bunch stitches" are placed in the area of the widest gap of the wound. The remaining wound edges, above, below, and between the bunch stitches, are sewn together with fine silk stitches that penetrate only a few millimeters from the wound edge. Instead of the bunches, many surgeons use lead plates or lead balls, which are used in the same way, i.e., attached at both ends of the wire. Typically, plates are threaded onto the wire, and a lead ball is placed on top, which is then compressed with a strong plate pliers, securing it firmly to the wire. The larger and softer bunches relieve the tissue better, making them preferable under greater tension. In addition to rhombic and crescent-shaped gaps, oval shapes with pointed ends and narrow edges can also be used.
