Ursula Hermann explores the questions of how hospice and palliative care teams experience their professional demands and what topics they bring up in supervision. To do this, she examines the field of hospice and palliative care using the consulting setting of supervision. The ethnographic method of participant observation provides insights into consulting processes, while the participatory research strategy allows for involvement in the research findings for supervisees. The experiences and practices of the professional groups highlight the diverse range of topics that arise in the care and support of dying and seriously ill individuals, as well as the challenges associated with the organizational integration of palliative care.
