Product details

This book provides the reader with a current and well-founded introduction to the philosophy of quantum physics. Although quantum theory is characterized by spectacular empirical successes, there is still ongoing debate about how it should be understood. In this work, the authors offer an overview of the numerous philosophical challenges: Do quantum objects violate the principle of causality? Are identical particles indistinguishable and therefore not individuals? Do quantum objects retain their identity over time? How does a composite quantum system relate to its parts? These questions are discussed within the framework of various interpretative approaches to quantum theory. A look into quantum field theory intensifies the main problem of non-locality. Philosophy of Quantum Physics is aimed at philosophy students with an interest in physics.
