This book deals with the physical systems and psychophysical processes related to the phenomenon we generally refer to as "music." It aims to help interested musicians understand how musical tones are produced in a physical manner and how they propagate through space, as well as how music is received and perceived by the listener. No prior knowledge of physics or mathematics beyond high school is required. It seeks to answer many questions that music-loving scientists may have regarding music and sound perception.
