Product details

This volume examines the interrelationships between equality policies, structural forms of discrimination, and precarious working conditions in the neoliberal university. The working and living conditions of researchers have changed profoundly over the past two decades. The ongoing economization of universities and other scientific organizations has led to an intensification of competition that also affects the work and scientific culture. In particular, the academic middle management is facing increased precariousness in scientific working conditions and career paths. At the same time, there is a noticeable increase in the institutionalization of equality and diversity policies in academia. However, while there are more women at local universities today than ever before.
