The focus is on current developments in professionalism and discourses surrounding women's shelter work. Concepts of women's shelter work in Germany that are currently being discussed are presented from the perspectives of science, practice, and research, and subjected to critical evaluation. The content includes developments in professionalization and transformation processes in women's shelter work, criteria for autonomy and their changes, the development of work with girls and boys in women's shelters, as well as the significance of resilience and principles of practical work. Additionally, the applicability of systemic couple counseling in cases of partner violence is addressed, along with practical reports from a women's shelter utilizing a systemic approach. An intersectional perspective in women's shelter work, the victimological perspective, methods of restorative justice, and critical psychology as a perspective of a political and supportive woman are also discussed.
