The book "Protecting Danube River Basin Resources" offers a comprehensive analysis of efforts to protect water resources in the Danube Basin, a strategically important region shared by several countries. The discussions in this work are based on insights from professionals from both East and West, including NATO partners and member states, who are involved in providing accurate and timely data on water quality. The publication highlights progress in collaboration and the recommendations from a workshop that proposed the creation of a central data source for water quality information and the monitoring of environmental standards. Edited by Dr. Irene Lyons Murphy, the book is supported by the United States Institute of Peace and analyzes the development of the Danube River Protection Convention as well as other environmentally friendly initiatives from 1991 to 1996. It is aimed at a broad audience, including investors, governments, scientists, and the general public.
