My decision to follow the proposal to write a foreword for the new book on post-traumatic disorders is also intended to strengthen the hope that two reasons are becoming increasingly clear: On one hand, it is recognized what one person can do to another. The document of the Second Vatican Council on the topic "Church and the World Today" points to the practical areas of psychotraumatology, such as pastoral care, which must also address emotional and societal issues. This text emphasizes that pastoral care is not only theoretical and that the saying "Time heals all wounds" must be questioned.
