In her dissertation, Sandra Dorobek explores the extent to which public value creation chains can be managed using traditional private sector management concepts (specifically, through the SCM approach), so that society, as the recipient of the politically desired public service, benefits from the associated efficiency advantages. The work makes a fundamental contribution to the further development of the SCM approach into a Public SCM for managing public value creation chains. It demonstrates which approaches and ideas from the established private sector SCM model remain relevant for a Public SCM, considering the unique characteristics of public value creation chains.
