Socially oriented action approaches are gaining increasing importance in elderly care. This study has examined the current relationships between stationary elderly care facilities and the social environment in the city of Düsseldorf using qualitative and quantitative research methods. For the urban space, it empirically sheds light on the interpretations, prerequisites, and potentials of social space orientation in elderly care for the first time. Based on this, concrete action components for socially sensitive elderly care in stationary contexts are proposed.
