Sociological enlightenment does not simply refer to practical relevance or societal significance. The theoretical ambition goes beyond this, but also takes into account the societal conditions that restrict it. Among these conditions is primarily the fact that sociology deals with an object that is equipped with the ability for self-observation in the form of communication about itself. This book primarily focuses on the further development of sociological theory itself.
