Barbara Lochner examines in her study how educational staff in daycare centers work together as a team. Based on conversation analyses and participant observations, she demonstrates the significance of collegial community in the practical management of everyday educational work. Her analyses focus on the social practices and processes through which educators act collectively or in relation to one another. This approach allows for an understanding of the various forms of realized togetherness within the team, beyond conceptual rhetoric.
