The Arché Papers on the Mathematics of Abstraction is a comprehensive collection of research papers that emerged from a five-year research project at the Arché Center. This project, initiated in September 2000, focused on the logical and metaphysical foundations of classical mathematics. The aim was to explore the philosophical and technical perspectives on the abstract foundations of classical mathematical theories, particularly concerning natural, real, and complex numbers, as well as standard set theory. The collected works reflect the outcomes of numerous seminars and networking meetings that took place as part of the project and were authored by leading scholars. This anthology represents the first volume that summarizes the significant insights and discussions that arose during the course of the project.
