Product details

"The Ethics of Genetic Screening" is a comprehensive collection of essays that emerged from a three-year project funded by the European Commission under the Biomed I program. This work examines the ethical and philosophical perspectives of genetic screening programs, particularly concerning multifactorial diseases. The project, known as Euroscreen, was multinational and interdisciplinary in nature and aimed to analyze the nature and scope of genetic screening programs in various European countries. Additionally, it explores social policy in response to these developments as well as the applicability of normative ethical frameworks to the associated issues. The contributions are divided into three main sections, each addressed by different experts in the field, providing an overview of the current state of genetic screening programs and their social and political contexts.
