The third volume "Power Plant Equipment" had to be divided into two parts A and B due to the extensive material to be covered. The entire preface in part A also applies in essence to the now presented part B. In the third volume, each author was given the opportunity to maintain their individuality and write in their own style. I hope that through this teamwork, which has proven itself in the practice of power plant construction time and again, a cohesive work has still emerged. The most important components of the power plant, the boiler and turbine, have been given a scope commensurate with their significance. While the treatment of fossil fuel-fired steam generation systems in part A of the third volume encompasses a total of 232 pages with 228 illustrations, the treatment of the turbine set dominates part B even more with 360 pages and 364 illustrations.
