Structural Engineering 3 introduces the theory and application of linear finite element methods, which are currently the most important analysis techniques for structures. After a uniform presentation of the classical structural models of solid mechanics, the book addresses energy statements as the basis for modern discretization methods. Subsequently, models for structural analysis are developed before describing the construction and performance of finite element methods.
