The publications on calculation methods and design proposals for composite bridge constructions have become so numerous in the last 10 years that it is hardly possible for engineering students to comprehensively process all the insights and suggestions provided. Furthermore, many of these theoretical studies and findings are only valid for simplified tasks and special cases, and thus are neither applicable nor reproducible for more complex issues—such as those encountered in the calculation of composite continuous beams with variable cross-sectional sizes and staggered local prestressing. The aim is to develop a universally valid, capable solution for composite continuous beams, particularly for arbitrarily arranged cross-sectional sizes and span lengths.
