This manual provides knowledge of the processes and machines used in fabric production. It is aimed at the textile industry and textile machinery manufacturing. The preparatory processes, machines, and units have been addressed by the author in the 1955 work "Preparatory Machines for Weaving," published by Springer Verlag, which covers the same manufacturing areas. As in the first work, the author has made an effort in this current book "Weaving" to consider the interests of both the textile and mechanical engineering sectors in its design. Where necessary, the issues have been comprehensively addressed from both perspectives. In December 1960, the standards committee decided to introduce the term "weaving machines" for all mechanical looms and to reserve the term "loom" exclusively for hand looms.
