Stéphanie Maïté Gretsch develops a theoretically and empirically grounded framework for the introduction of knowledge management in the workplace. The author analyzes the key themes of conception, development, and testing of a theory-based needs analysis model. To this end, she designs an implementation model that serves as the foundation for the development of the expert-finding tool and creates, based on theoretical approaches to help-seeking, a conditions model for process analysis. This model includes, on one hand, the processes involved in help-seeking related to decision-making, identification, interaction, and evaluation, and on the other hand, the influencing factors concerning the characteristics of the help-seeker, the helper, the organization, the context, and the technology.
