The author of the recipes, Gisèle Dill, or "Gisl" as she is known among the scouts, has over 30 years of experience cooking at small and large scout camps. She has succeeded in establishing a healthy, nutrition-conscious, and high-quality cooking culture within the scouting community. In response to many requests, a comprehensive cookbook has now been created, enabling even inexperienced cooks to get started in camp cooking.

The selection of recipes is influenced both by her Swiss origins and her long-time residence in the Swabian region. Gisl has always exuded enthusiasm for cooking, and with her, kitchen duty became a gladly accepted responsibility for all camp participants. For several years, Gisl has passed on her recipes and support to the new generation of camp cooks and kitchen helpers. From a loose-leaf collection of recipes, not only has a comprehensive cookbook emerged, but also a teaching resource for every novice cook who wants to recreate scout dishes at home or cook for larger (children's) groups.

Concept and design: Alexandra Strauss, known among the scouts as "Hexe," currently lives in Ravensburg. She has been a scout with the Pfadfinderbund Horizonte e.V. for 30 years. Hexe was a den and troop leader for many years in the Edelweisspiraten group, worked in national leadership and group leader training, and has always enjoyed structuring the available materials. Alexandra Strauss is a teacher at the free Waldorf school in Ravensburg and has gained experience in planning and catering during numerous class trips. This tastefully designed overall work of scout cooking is the result of years of collaboration with Gisl.
