The more I study Bakunin, the more I grasp his great revolutionary clarity and the depth of his social understanding. I believe that he is not sufficiently appreciated even within our ranks. He is usually seen as a great revolutionary, an exceptional rebel whose spirit burned with a love of freedom and who thirsted for action. He indeed possessed these characteristic traits, but they do not exhaust his essence. Bakunin represents the rare combination of a philosophical mind and revolutionary intuition, which allowed him to make accurate and thorough assessments of situations and conditions, supported by profound purposefulness and unyielding will.
