"My Three Lives" was the working title of Stefan Zweig for his great book "The World of Yesterday." The years of learning and wandering until the end of World War I, the successful years of the writer's career in Salzburg, and finally the years of exile in Great Britain, the USA, and Brazil - these form the three major blocks in Stefan Zweig's biography. Oliver Matuschek can draw on a wealth of newly accessible sources, research findings, and previously unknown materials for his life description. He compellingly narrates the fulfilled life of a writer spoiled by success, which takes a turn due to the currents of time and tragically ends in a joint suicide with his second wife Lotte in a small Brazilian town.
