Trekking in Langtang, Gosainkund, and Helambu takes hikers into a landscape that, while not at the foot of an eight-thousander, rivals the Everest or Annapurna regions. As a special addition, the second edition describes the solitary paths of the Tamang Heritage Trail and the deep insights into the traditional lifestyle of the mountain peoples that can be gained there. Hiking routes in the shade of towering trees alternate with breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks and high valleys right at the Tibetan border, where the seven-thousander Langtang Lirung dominates the scenery.
