Results of the Interdisciplinary Longitudinal Study of Adulthood (ILSE)

Summary:
Research into development in middle to later life is becoming increasingly important. In light of demographic changes in the population composition, the transformative events following German reunification, and the potential for early preventive measures to maintain and improve satisfaction and health into old age, the Interdisciplinary Longitudinal Study of Adulthood (ILSE) can fill gaps in the research on middle and later adulthood. The contributions focus on the history of its inception, the theoretical background, and the design of ILSE, as well as on capturing the conditions for healthy and satisfying aging, with results pertaining to both individual resources and important developmental contexts.
