The topic of dying, death, and resurrection is a taboo subject, making it often difficult for students to move beyond the abstract level. Many students have encountered dying and death in their personal lives, and these impressions leave a deep mark. However, the threshold for sharing these experiences with others is very high. Independent work is an ideal teaching method in this context, as it allows for a deep, even intimate engagement with the topic. The presented learning pathway offers a gentle introduction to the subject. It conveys the fundamental Christian positions as well as the views of other major religions on death and resurrection. With this and other age-appropriate information, students are enabled to recognize the backgrounds of ethical issues such as euthanasia and to form their own reasoned positions.
