Mia is sixteen and has this strange gift. She can read emotions and instantly expose anyone around her as a jealous person or a liar. While this may sound useful, it is a burden in everyday life. Mia is a loner who regularly runs into streetlights because she can hardly concentrate in large crowds. One day, when she feels like she is being followed, a series of strange coincidences begins that will throw her life off course. Suddenly, there is this monster and the boy with the bow slung over his shoulder, who swears far too much for a hero. When the most handsome man in the world shows up at her house the next day and asks her to switch to his boarding school, it becomes clear that nothing will be the same as it once was.
