Ship participations are entrepreneurial investments that first appeared in the 14th century. Until that time, shipowners had to bear the risks of piracy or the sinking of their ships on their own. KG is a limited partnership where at least one GmbH must assume full liability, and the investors are only liable up to their capital contribution.
