The book "Stochastic Model Checking" provides a comprehensive introduction to the application of stochastic models in computer science. It covers key topics such as performance modeling, the analysis of random algorithms, and communication protocols that are significant for the structure of the internet. Stochastic Model Checking has established itself as an important research field, characterized by systematic methods for modeling and analyzing stochastic systems. The seven tutorial presentations included in this book were delivered by leading researchers at the ROCKS autumn school on the topic of Stochastic Model Checking. The chapters have been reviewed and improved in two rounds of revisions and offer an overview of the current state of the art in the areas of stochastic models, abstraction techniques, and stochastic model checking.
