People whose appearance does not align with the gender assigned to them at birth experience various human rights violations almost worldwide. A stigmatizing psychiatric diagnosis mandated in international disease catalogs serves as a basis for transphobia, which restricts life opportunities in the form of institutional and structural violence. In recent years, an international campaign called "Stop Trans-Pathologization 2012!" has emerged, aiming to remove the diagnosis of gender identity disorder from disease catalogs. This is because name and gender marker changes, as well as medical procedures, could also be carried out in a non-stigmatizing manner. The Berlin contributions to this international campaign provide information on the analyses of the trans movement and its actions. They support its struggle for self-determination.
