Product details
Jean Giraudoux, born in 1888 in southwestern France, had a diplomatic career as the son of a small provincial official, which took him to the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and several years in Germany. Alongside his diplomatic work, Giraudoux began writing novels and stories early on, and from the 1930s, he wrote a series of plays that made him famous throughout Europe and a precursor to absurd theater. He died in 1944. 'The Trojan War Will Not Take Place' and 'The Madwoman of Chaillot' also became classics in Germany before Giraudoux fell into obscurity since the late 1970s.
