Forensic psychiatry and criminal therapy, which also considers the treatment of offenders without mental illnesses, have increasingly developed into a differentiated specialty within psychiatry and psychotherapy over the past 15 years. It has long been clear that working on individual thought and behavior patterns is of great importance for the primary and secondary prevention of crime.
