At the border of Belarus and Ukraine, Street 816 winds through the untouched river landscape of the Bug. Through Michal Książek's eyes, we see an incredible diversity of species that are threatened with extinction elsewhere but can survive in the green lung of Poland - insects, plants, and especially birds: blood finches, siskins, and the world's largest owl, the Eurasian eagle-owl, capable of catching a goose, a heron, or even a small dog. The few people the traveler meets have seen life; they carry memories within them, whether young or old. For centuries, this has been a border area of different ethnicities, confessions, and cultures: Catholic Poles and Orthodox Ukrainians.
