The Yearbook for Islamophobia Research 2010 - Germany, Austria, Switzerland - provides an introduction to the academic terminology surrounding the concept of Islamophobia. It addresses current incidents such as the murder of Marwa el-Sherbini in Dresden and its media reception, as well as the minaret construction ban in Switzerland. Islamophobia is also examined from a psychodynamic perspective. At the heart of this interdisciplinary publication are fact-based and scientifically systematic analyses of Islamophobic events in the three German-speaking countries: Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. It includes case studies relevant to the events of the year from various fields such as media, politics, law, everyday discrimination, as well as theoretical reflections. The aim of the yearbook is to convey scientific insights into current phenomena.
