Product details
Due to the scarcity of sources and resources available for constructing a chronology of the New Kingdom, it is only in a few cases possible to determine a reign with certainty down to the exact year and day. Thutmose III and Amenhotep II are currently the only kings for whom the calendar day of the beginning of their reign is established in our current dating system. In all other cases, the investigation yields values that, at most (the ascension of Ahmose), limit the timeframe to 14 years. The aim of this habilitation thesis is to provide the indispensable, reliable chronological framework for historical representations of the New Kingdom.
