Giant glaciers, deep fjords, endless forests and tundras, countless lakes and rivers, many of them unnamed, majestic ice-covered peaks - Alaska is the last wilderness on Earth. Flowing through the heart of the 49th state of the USA is the legendary Yukon River, and north of the river, there are no more roads. Here lie the largest national parks in the USA. The wildlife is unique, featuring the largest bears in the world, caribou, moose, wolves, seals, and whales. In Alaska, nature is so powerful, so dramatic, and wonderfully wild that it exists nowhere else. Alaska is a land of adventure in every sense, with untamed nature presenting unusual challenges. The two adventurers Doris and Hubert Neubauer have faced these challenges. They gave up a secure existence and dedicated themselves wholeheartedly to adventure: they moved into the wilderness of Alaska.
