What happens when an entire country is suddenly cut off from the outside world? When resources become scarce? When not everyone can survive? In a remote Icelandic fjord, former journalist Hjalti from Reykjavik lives under primitive conditions on his grandfather's old farm. He tends to the sheep, cultivates the barren land, and survives on what he can wrest from the earth and the sea. His only company, besides the sheep, is his dog. Hjalti is engaged in a tough struggle for survival, as Iceland has been isolated from the outside world for some time, and his partner Maria and her children are separated from him, their fate uncertain.
