Who perceives knows what it is like to be a perceiver. This special knowledge of humans about their own situation is the subject of a phenomenology that dares to forgo any modeling for the sake of secure understanding. If traditional models of perception prove to be myths, then the experience of perceiving itself must become the subject. However, this changes the perspective: It is not the I that produces perception that is thematized, but the perception that brings me into being and allows me to exist in the world. This me of perception needs to be described.
