Product details

According to Bruno Latour, there can only be one answer to the question "What to do?": "Political Ecology!" However, this answer leaves no stone unturned in our everyday understanding of ecology and in the traditional conceptual framework of polis, logos, and physis. Latour is no longer simply concerned with bringing the idea of nature into politics. Rather, ecology must be understood as a political philosophy of nature and confront the risk of metaphysics. Only by recognizing that nature does not represent a special realm of reality, but rather depends on specific conceptions of science, can it be effectively renewed: as political epistemology. It will have to replace science with sciences and will need to re-conceptualize these based on comparative anthropology: as the socialization of non-human beings.
