In the series "German Conditions," the research group led by Wilhelm Heitmeyer has been examining the connection between the social and economic situation in Germany and forms of group-related enmity since 2001. In recent years, there has been a positive trend, partly due to declining unemployment rates: xenophobia, anti-Semitism, and sexism have decreased. However, experts now anticipate a significant rise in unemployment in 2009/2010 due to the economic crisis. How will the crisis affect the devaluation of vulnerable groups?
