The evolution of human moral consciousness is one of the great mysteries of science. It has inspired the imagination of generations of researchers, and numerous theories have been proposed, but the question "Where does morality come from?" remains unanswered. Building on his fascinating natural history of humanity, Michael Tomasello now presents an answer.
