Twenty years ago, the French sociologist Bruno Latour stated, "we have never been modern" and attempted a "symmetrical anthropology" beyond the separation of nature and culture. This fascinating project continues with an "anthropology of the modern" and explores the various modes of existence of science, technology, law, religion, economy, and politics in the modern world. It presents a broad panorama of the modes of modern existence. Latour's project starts from the global interconnection of all areas of life, which is today particularly evident in the issue of climate change. At the same time, this problem also reveals that there are different spheres of action - science, politics, economy - each possessing its own modes of existence. Nevertheless, these different modes of existence are not independent of one another.
